Berenson, the well-known expert in artistic matters,was right in saying that Trogir was a treasure of arts-if not by the value of its monuments,certainly by their location and the general ambient.

It seems fair to maintain that in this respect Trogir is unique in the world with so many autochthonous works of art on such a small area.
